South Korean tech giant Samsung has announced the first member of its Galaxy Tab range to come with Windows installed. This is a 'premium' 2-in-1 tablet featuring a 12-inch 1440p AMOLED screen. Samsung's new fanless Core M powered Windows 10 machine offers up to 10.5 hours of battery life. The tablet portion of the 2-in-1 design is just 6.3mm thick and weighs 693g. Samsung bundles a full sized dual-angle keyboard cover/stand with the device.

Central to the Samsung Galaxy TabPro S 2-in-1 offering is its Super AMOLED display. This lightweight and energy efficient panel offers the tablet great colours and contrast and is the first of its kind available in a Windows 2-in-1. Samsung's chosen display panel offers 2160 x 1440 pixels.

Inside, Samsung employs a fanless, dual-core, 2.2GHz Intel Core M processor (4.5W) accompanied by 4GB of RAM. Storage is catered for by your choice of 128/256GB SSD upon which your Windows 10 Home/Pro installation will reside. Connectivity is provided via Wi-Fi a/b/g/n/ac MIMO, NFC, Bluetooth 4.1 and optional LTE Cat 6. GPS, GLONASS, Accelerometer, Hall and Light sensors are all built in, as are front and back facing 5MP cameras. Keeping you going throughout, the day the device offers a 5,200mAh fast charge battery with 10.5 hours of freedom from wall wart tethering.

Samsung's keyboard cover works in the now familiar way as a dual-angle stand and input device with built-in touch pad. It offers full sized but flush keys and is included in your purchase. A Bluetooth Pen is an optional extra, as is a multi-port adaptor for the device offering HDMI and USB Type-A and Type-C ports. The adaptor will be a pretty compelling purchase for many TabPro S 2-in-1 power users as the device offers just a solitary USB Type-C port.

Samsung said its new Windows 2-in-1 will be available globally from Feb but we don't have pricing details as yet.

As well as the above new Windows 2-in-1, Samsung revealed its new 9-series laptops for 2016, as expected. Demonstrating its consumer electronics muscle Samsung also has an impressive new lineup of "unparalleled picture quality" Quantum Dot SUHD TVs, plus a cool new smart refrigerator and new cleaning appliances to push forward its smart home strategies.

I just want one with a dedicated GPU and that's cheaper than a surface book.
Looks a subtle looking device considering its from Samusung though slightly less bezel would be better.
Be interesting too see how this is priced. HP's range of Sprectre are a little high , although do offer good value compared to the surface pro range, but some would say the pro's are £200 over priced considering they don't include a keyboard.
