Firefox 1.5.0.2, the latest version of the Mozilla Foundation's free web browser, is now available for download in versions for Windows (4.9MB), Linux (8.1MB) and Apple Mac OS X. Apple users can download two OS X versions - one 'universal' (16MB) that works natively on Intel-based and PowerPC-based Macs, the other only for PowerPC Macs (9.5MB).

Version 1.5.0.2 is said to offer improved stability, a number of security fixes and a bunch of bug fixes. More details of those over at Burning Edge. If you're not using Firefox, we at HEXUS would urge you to try it out - it's generally regarded as much more secure than Microsoft's Internet Explorer browser. As is, the program offers a number of features not yet available in IE - notably tabs for tidier browsing of multiple sites - with a huge number of additional features being available by installing free third-party extensions.

Running Bon Echo here (version 2.0a1). So if you're feeling more adventurous than a stable release, try it out… and you can hack the extension files to force them to install on a version higher then they're intended for… just as long as you know how to fix it when it breaks :)
Seamonkey 1.0.1 has appeared as well, with the same updated Gecko.

Any good?
I've not noticed any changes to page rendering so Gecko changes must be pretty subtle (as they should be.)

They have implemented miniSQL storage for history and bookmarks, which makes them much more flexible than we're used to, although playing with them has caused a crash for me.

All in all it's pretty good, although on my main rig I'll adopt 1.5.0.2 as I'm not over-keen on running beta software on it.
hmm, im sure i downloaded 1.5.0.2 last week o_O

took them time to announce it lol
