PRESS RELEASE

31 August - 5 September, Hall 22

Also this year, MMD, the brand license partner for Philips monitors, confirms its presence at the 58th edition of the IFA tradeshow. During the exhibition, in Hall 22, visitor can experience a wide range of display innovations, including ultra-wide displays and touchscreens for greater productivity, USB-C docking monitors for better connectivity, ultra-slim and curved screens for enhanced immersion, and much more.

Seamless design for consumers: frameless, slim, curved

A 4-sided frameless design is a key feature of several of the latest Philips displays, which makes them ideal for tiling. With their truly seamless appearance, these monitors are also exceptionally slim, measuring as little as 6.1 mm, while curved models offer a more immersive user experience whether at home or at work.

The perfect ally of console gamers

A special place during IFA 2018 will be dedicated to a 43” 4K HDR 1000 display specifically designed for console gamers. Visitors will have the opportunity to admire the display in a dedicated gaming area at the Philips booth. Featuring a stylish, large and fast VA panel in CrystalClear 4K (UHD) resolution, the Momentum display offers console gamers superb picture quality, rapid response time, and low input lag to ensure stutter and tear-free gaming. In addition, it is packed with a multitude of additional features for enhanced comfort, connectivity, and enjoyment.

Seeing the big picture: ultra-wide monitors

The new Philips monitors line-up features several ultra-wide 32:9/32:10 screens. The big screen models that will be showcased at IFA 2018 will range from 43.4 to 49 inches in size, equipped with Hello webcams. Such large-screen real estate will enable more efficient multi-tasking by offering more information on one screen while eliminating the distraction of the centre bar associated with screen tiling. These new monitors will replace the need for multiple screens in such contexts as financial institutions, trading floors, and other B2B sectors.

Addressed to professionals: touchscreen and USB docking

Touchscreen technology is featured in a variety of this year’s Philips monitors. Its B2B Touch Monitors use Projected-Capacitive (P-Cap) touch and support up to 10 points in addition to advanced IP54 protection against contact with water and dust. These screens also feature smooth and easy tilting to provide users the flexibility of choosing their preferred angle for greater ergonomic comfort. These professional monitors will be presented at IFA as 17” and 21.5” models.

Other upcoming professional Philips monitors that will be shown in Berlin, with sizes from 31.5” to 34” and with 5K resolution, meet the needs of today’s flexible work environments. These new displays are equipped with USB Type-C port and provide full docking functionality and optimised connectivity. Their slim, bi-directional, reversible connector, USB Type-C, offers easy one-cable docking that enables users to transfer data securely at the fastest speed available, hook up phones and notebooks to their display to charge them, and connect peripherals simply and quickly.
