ISE, Amsterdam, 1st February 2011—At the 2011 Integrated Systems Europe (ISE) show in Amsterdam, Samsung Electronics Co. Ltd., introduced the 550UTn, its latest 46” and 55” UT Series of Large Format Display (LFD) units, featuring super-thin bezels that enable companies to create seamless and effective video wall solutions.  Measuring only 5.3mm (55”) and 6.7mm (46”) from bezel to bezel, Samsung’s UT Series LFD products dramatically reduce the distance between parts of the image, presenting a more complete and coherent multi-display picture while providing a larger, more effective display area.

Developed without compromising picture quality, the UT Series delivers 700nit of brightness and 1366 x 768 (46”) and 1920 x 1080 (55”) resolution.  Featuring D-SUB, DVI and two HDMI ports, the UT Series offers a range of connectivity options including a DVI-out interface, enabling content to be easily shared among up to 100 monitors.  Ensuring the best picture is always displayed, the UT series includes Automatic Color Calibration, an intelligent feature that automatically adjusts the White Balance as a whole on video walls. In addition, a detachable ambient brightness sensor automatically adjusts the on-screen brightness according to the ambient light level of the area surrounding the display.

Phil Gaut, General Manager for Display, Samsung  UK says:  “Samsung is excited to introduce the next generation of our innovative UT professional display series—designed to deliver ultimate interactivity and resolution for multi-display settings and video walls and higher brightness for digital signage. These products yield higher reliability while expanding our leadership in the digital signage market. The UT series is designed to deliver the largest image display area possible with its super-narrow bezel, making this new line of display products the ultimate solution for video wall arrangements for the public or private sector—in a variety of settings.”

With a built-in network PC running Microsoft Windows Embedded Standard 2009, along with Samsung’s exclusive MagicInfo™ content management, the UT series also features an RJ45 interface, giving users long distance remote control abilities via LAN.

Samsung’s UT Series will offer companies in various industries the ability to grab their audience’s attention, with the pristine picture quality for which Samsung is known.

The 46” and 55” UT Series of LFD units will be available in the UK in April 2011 and pricing is yet to be confirmed.
