Taipei, Taiwan (8th January, 2016) — ASUS today announced MB169C+, the world’s first USB Type-C-powered companion display designed for compatibility with industry-leading laptops and future devices[1]. MB169C+ utilizes a single USB Type-C connection for combined power and video transmission. It has a super-slim 8.5mm profile; and weighs just 0.8kg — making it the world’s lightest 15.6-inch companion display. MB169C+ has a wide-view angle Full HD panel with in-plane switching (IPS) technology. In addition, it features ASUS Ultra-Low Blue Light and QuickFit Virtual Scale. MB169C+ will be on display in the ASUS Media Lounge during 2016 International CES®.
Single USB Type-C cable supplies both power and video
MB169C+ is the world’s first 15.6-inch portable companion display that uses a single USB Type-C connection for both power and video transmission from the host device. This cuts down on the number of cables required to give users a neater work area. The reversible USB Type-C connector makes connecting devices easy, so there’s no chance of damaging the cable or port by plugging in devices the ‘wrong’ way.
MB169C+ has a Full HD IPS panel that delivers stunning 1920 x 1080 resolution visuals with outstanding color reproduction, as well as wide-viewing angles for minimal color shift even when viewed from extreme positions.
Dual displays for on-the-go productivity
MB169C+ weighs just 800g and has an ultra-slim 8.5mm profile. It is designed for users who are constantly on the go, and is compatible with Windows 10 and Mac OS with no driver installation required. MB169C+ works best as a secondary display for dual-monitor presentations, and can help enhance work efficiency. It comes with the ASUS Smart Case, a protective sleeve that doubles as a two-way adjustable stand.
ASUS-exclusive Ultra-Low Blue Light technology and QuickFit Virtual Scale
MB169C+ has several ASUS-exclusive technologies to enhance user comfort and convenience. Ultra-Low Blue Light technology reduces blue light emission by up to 70% to protect users’ eyes, and has four different blue light filter settings to suit the task at hand.
ASUS QuickFit Virtual Scale gives users the added convenience of simply pressing a hotkey to bring up an onscreen alignment grid. This helps when previewing actual-size photos and documents onscreen prior to printing.
