London - January 17, 2014 - Security expert Avira announced today that it earned a Top Rated Product award from AV-Comparatives for its overall performance against competitive security products in AV-Comparatives' Summary Report. Avira scored high in testing on Malware Removal and earned solid scores on each test AV-Comparatives performed throughout the year. In total, 22 competitive products were tested.
For AV-Comparatives' Top Rated Products, all competitors are tested for their ability to protect against real-world Internet threats, identify thousands of recent malicious programs, and provide protection without slowing down the PC. Additionally, optional tests check how well the products can remove malware from an infected PC, block new and unknown threats, and protect the user against phishing attacks. The AV-Comparatives Summary Report highlights the high-scoring security vendors tested throughout the prior year.
