PRESS RELEASE
(London, 7th April 2014) Avira, the global antivirus software company with over 100,000,000 users worldwide, was recently awarded top scores for its Free Antivirus and Internet Security Suite. The German Stiftung Warentest's comparison review is similar to the UK's "Which?" product comparisons, and rated both products as ‘GOOD'.
Free Antivirus received a score of GOOD(2.2) and has been announced the winner of the category, praised for its ease of use, high malware detection rates and performance - in particular for not overloading a computer.
Internet Security Suite received a GOOD(2.1) in the paid antivirus category, and beat AVG, Avast, Kaspersky, Bitdefender, McAfee and BullGuard in the category. The product includes tools such as System Speedup, advanced web detection to identify malicious sites before they load, browser tracking blocker and real-time cloud technology protection.
Barry Van Der Dong, European Sales Director of Avira said ‘We are delighted to gain recognition not only in technical software testing labs such as AV Comparatives but also amongst Consumer testing bodies, and are particularly pleased that ‘ease of use' was acknowledged as an Avira benefit, reassuring customers that downloading antivirus software doesn't have to be difficult.'
