Hopping on over to GlacialTech's stand and the company's representatives were keen to stress that its products, usually aimed toward the budget market, were particularly relevant during the current economic downturn.

For example, take the Igloo 5610 Plus, designed as a cost-effective upgrade to the PIB cooler shipping with retail Core i7 chips.

Shipping with a single 80mm fan as standard, the Plus is reckoned to outperform the retail cooler by 5C.

The kicker here is the price, at around $12 for the one-fan version and $14 for the two-fan model, pictured above.

A cheap cooler on an expensive CPU does seem somewhat counterintuitive, but we'll be taking a look at it in the next few weeks, so stay tuned.

“Economic Downturn” has now overtaken “Carbon Footprint” as the buzzword that must be used as much as possible in advertising.
As said in the article, when you spend £240 on a CPU and £200 on a motherboard, you are not going to give a stuff about saving £20 on a CPU cooler.
badass
