Nvidia is going to wait and see what AMD shows off at Computex before deciding what to do with its GeForce GTX 980 Ti graphics card launch says a report by SweClockers. According to its sources Nvidia will bring forward the launch of the Titanium edition of the GeForce GTX 980 if AMD's next generation Radeon range is as potent as early indications suggest.

Currently Nvidia's plan is to orchestrate the launch of the GeForce GTX 980 Ti graphics card for late summer, probably September. However, depending upon AMD's success at Computex and in reviews on sites like HEXUS, the green team will move to release the Titanium card earlier. September would give AiB (add-in board) partners enough time for a typical launch accompanied by models with custom cooler configurations, enhanced VRMs and other typical brand enhancements - but if needs be Nvidia will let loose the Ti card earlier to minimise AMD's time at the top of the heap. In this case we would initially see the AiBs launch a bunch of re-boxed and stickered reference designs.

The spec of the GeForce GTX 980 Ti graphics card is expected to centre on a full version of the GM200 graphics processor with all 3072 CUDA cores in play. Differentiating it from the GeForce GTX Titan X and helping Nvidia hit a more reasonable price point the 980 Ti will sport 'just' 6GB of GDDR5 memory.

Please remember that the above story sources are far from official. What pans out this summer could be completely different to the scenario painted above.

“helping Nvidia hit a more reasonable price point”

Lol..no such thing for a Nvidia top tier card.
This just reads like the typical speculation that we get to fill the dead space during that period of waiting for NDAs to lift.
I wonder if these will come in at the current 980 price and the 980 get discounted to the pricepoint they should be at?
they`ll be picthed between the £400 gtx 980 and the £1000 titanx - so my guess would be over £599
What'd really kill me would be if the R300 was more potent than even the 980 Ti (or Titan X for that matter).

It's a pipedream, I know, but wouldn't that just be hilarious?
