Coinciding with the launch of the desktop AMD Trinity APU range of processors today, Sapphire has announced a new mainboard specially developed to make the most of the new Trinity family. Triple view is supported with VGA, DVI and either HDMI or DisplayPort. Up to four independent high resolution DirectX 11 displays are supported by the integrated Southern Islands graphics.

Sapphire says the new mainboard has a very high build quality and includes gold plated connectors for USB 3.0 and LAN ports.  Solid capacitors are used throughout, for better reliability. The chipset is passively cooled and low profile so you can have a better wider choice of APU cooling solutions without any obstructions.

Enthusiasts and overclockers will appreciate the Sapphire hardware monitoring tools and TriXX software which allows “users to review and adjust a range of system parameters while optimizing performance of the APU”. The push-button resettable UEFI dual-BIOS is useful for experimentation, updates and backup.

As we say in the HEXUS AMD A10-5800K Trinity APU review, there will be other FM2 boards out imminently from ASUS, MSI and Gigabyte for you to compare this Sapphire A85X effort with, including some entry level and mid-range boards.

Is it just me or does this board just look cheap. I don't think they will be swaying many Asus/ gigabyte buyers to switch to their brand with those looks.
Doesn't look particularly cheap to me, and it's certainly feature-packed. What in particular do you think looks cheap about it?
Definitely cheap looking, it is all those different colours, no consistent theme to it. I will wait for the micro-atx and mini-itx boards although as looking for a separate GPU, Trinity is not really the first option
It looks the same as any top end motherboard, which are two tone <black & blue> in general, Only thing odd are the pink connectors. The specs tell tell us its a high end and i will consider gigabyte and sapphire when and if I choose a motherboard, I won`t be buying Asus or msi this round.
I understand that its feature packed (id love to have 7 sata 6gb ports) but as mentioned the sata conections look pink, and to me the chip set & pwm cooler looks cheap. Also can't get my head around why they have used 4 side facing sata ports and 3 forward sata facing ports.
