Unsolicited e-mail, oh how we hate you so
As I began writing this article, I received 6 junk e-mail items. No, I don't need any medication thank you! Oh the joy.
There are spam filtering solutions already out there, but the problem persists, unsolicited e-mail just never seems to end.
The latest company to declare war on spam is BullGuard, who has today announced the global release of its free Spamfilter which includes 24/7 live support and integrates with all major e-mail clients.
Theis Søndergaard, CTO and co-founder of BullGuard said:
"Research has shown that people consider spam to be the number 1 nuisance on the internet. Over 80% of all emails sent today are spam. With our free Spamfilter we give people a tool to keep their inboxes clean. In turn we use their input to further improve the efficiency of the BullGuard Spamfilter."
BullGuard's Spamfilter works in a method similar to other filters, if a user marks an item as spam, other users will find similar messages automatically identified. Though the BullGuard Spamfilter had already been a part of BullGuard's Internet Security package, the company hopes that the now free standalone alternative will help boost its install-base and in turn, flag more spam items.
We appreciate your efforts BullGuard, but we don't believe this'll win the war against spam. We need something more drastic, much more drastic. Oh joy, I've just received another 3 junk e-mail items.
