As a fan of all things widgety, Rys has written a Konfabulator Widget that allows you to easily keep track of the three HEXUS RSS feeds.

Let's backtrack a moment however, and introduce Konfabulator to those of you who haven't used it before.

From Konfabulator's info page:

Konfabulator is a JavaScript runtime engine for Windows and Mac OS X that lets you run little files called Widgets that can do pretty much whatever you want them to. Widgets can be alarm clocks, calculators, can tell you your WiFi signal strength, will fetch the latest stock quotes for your preferred symbols, and even give your current local weather.

What sets Konfabulator apart from other scripting applications is that it takes full advantage of today's advanced graphics. This allows Widgets to blend fluidly into your desktop without the constraints of traditional window borders. Toss in some sliding and fading, and these little guys are right at home in Windows XP and Mac OS X.

Explained from the perspective of somebody who has only just discovered Konfabulator (me), it's an immensely cool application with limitless ways to enrich your desktop.

Utilising XML and JavaScript, anybody with some knowledge of the two languages should quite easily be able to create their very own widget. This has resulted in the wide range of widgets available today

Exercising his elite coding skills, Rys has created a widget which aggregates the three HEXUS.feeds that were recently introduced to the site. The result is a stylish HEXUS panel on your desktop, keeping you up to date with the latest news and reviews at HEXUS.

Here's a screenshot of the widget in action:

The widget is customisable. You can change the number of items to list for each feed, along with how often to update them.

If you already use Konfabulator, download the HEXUS RSS Feeds widget from the widget gallery. If you've not tried out Konfabulator yet, then I urge you to head over to their download page and give it a try.

If this widget proves popular, you may find that we will produce more, enriching your life with an array of widgetry. Until then, enjoy our RSS feeds.
