MSI WTF promotion

PCs and accessories maker MSI has entered into a new partnership with WTFast software. As announced on its Facebook page yesterday, it is the first Gaming Laptop maker to introduce WTFast technology which promises online gameplay with "no more lags".

WTFast is a software solution to help perk up your networking. It provides rich connection stats and promises to "optimize your game connection from end to end". The software is built with MMO gamers in mind and is said, in more technical terms, to "reduce average ping", and "greatly reduce connection flux, spikes and packet loss".

The new MSI promotion with regards to WTFast is that registered MSI hardware users can get an "exclusive 2-month premium license," for using this software. If you've used the WTFast Premium Version before and like it, that's a decent bonus, if you've never tried it and would like to test its claims for a couple of months – this free Premium trial facilitates that. Please note that not all games are supported but many popular online games such as League of Legends, Minecraft, DOTA2 and more are.

MSI SLI bridges

Late last week tech site Guru3D published some early photos of MSI branded 3 and 4-way SLI Bridges with mounted FAN units. The site reckons that graphics card designing teams are in a lull, as we wait for next generation parts to be launched, and thus created these SLI bridge designs.

With 3 and 4-way SLI setups prone to heat buildup – so much power is concentrated in such a small area – improving the airflow directly with a fan is definitely a 'cool' idea. As you can see in the rather blurry photos, the bridging unit it accompanied by a matching colour coordinated fan. Further official details should be along shortly.

It detects your ISP, looks up an employee database and sends messages threatening to kill a network engineer and their dog unless they work harder.
Interesting 4-way SLI bridge with the fan… but if I'm buying four cards, I'll want better bang for buck than buying one super-duper card, which would likely mean just buying several decent cards… but if I had that kind of money I'd just go watercooled anyway.

My ISP is BT. They'll just perpetually redirect the email around the system, flinging back an automated acknowledgement every time.
