Corsair's new Voyager to debut at CeBIT 2008

If you like flash memory of the faster variety, you'll be happy to hear that self-proclaimed "choice of enthusiasts worldwide", Corsair, has announced its 16GB Flash Voyager GT.

This 16GB USB 2.0 Flash drive, pictured above, is available to order immediately and will debut at CeBIT in Hanover, Germany next week. Corsair claims the drive "provides data transfer rates that are up to 4X faster than standard USB 2.0 drives".

The GT drive features screened and hand-selected NAND flash chips and utilises advanced flash controller technology, says Corsair.

As with Corsair's other Voyager drives, it'll come complete with a water and shock resistant rubber casing so you needn't worry about having fun with it, and it'll be backed by a 10-year limited warranty.

It's key features, as described by Corsair, are:

  • Maximum durability – proprietary all-rubber housing
  • Drive integrity – water resistant and shock resistant
  • Data security – TrueCrypt encryption software offering AES 256-bit encryption
  • User warranty – 10 years with on-demand customer support

Jack Peterson, VP of Corporate Marketing at Corsair said:

"People expect Corsair to deliver the highest performing products. That’s why our latest Flash Voyager GT offers both higher speeds and higher capacities than standard USB drives, making them ideal for discerning customers."

Well then, discerning customers, the 16GB Flash Voyager GT could be yours for an MSRP of $169.99.
