Final thoughts and rating

We didn't have high hopes when we got our hands on the Precision Series PS07. The chassis looks simple, it's small, it doesn't tout numerous high-end features, it's relatively cheap, and you expect smaller enclosures to carry a few provisos; they tend to be awkward to work with, and cooling performance typically isn't up to scratch.

We were wrong on all accounts, as the PS07 has surpassed our expectations by proving to be elegant, compact, well-stocked, affordable and impressively easy to work with. The exterior design is subtle, precise and very easy on the eye, and though the trimmed dimensions don't appear to be too drastic (we wouldn't go as far as to call this a small-form-factor chassis), the case is considerably smaller than a mid-tower alternative and consequently sits better beneath most desks.

There is room for improvement - the internal structure could certainly be stronger, and RAM clearance may be an issue for some - but if we had to sum up the PS07 in one word, that word would be satisfying. By allowing the user to easily remove the top panel, motherboard tray and drive cage, SilverStone has made the PS07 incredibly simple to build into, and in use the chassis manages to perform well while keeping noise levels down to a minimum.

It's attractive, installation's a cinch, cable-management facilities are plentiful, and the sub-£55 price tag puts it well within the reach of the masses. As far as mATX chassis are concerned, the PS07 will take some beating.

Bottom line: A mid- or full-tower enclosure will better suit enthusiast users, but if you are in need of a space-saving solution that looks great and packs a punch, the PS07 should be high on your shortlist.

The Good

Simple, elegant design
Compact form factor
Good cable management
Decent cooling performance
Keeps quiet during use
Mainstream price

The Bad

Internal materials could be stronger
RAM clearance may be an issue

Nice review of a very nice mATX case

I would of liked to of seen what it was capable of and how it looks with a a bigger cooler, bigger graphics card and a few more drives.
A removable tray on a mATX case, Rodney Reynold's would say this is a Kickass product. ;)
