Conclusion

...the German manufacturer has managed to create something a little different and it's refreshing to build into a chassis that makes you think about the various possibilities.

The Dark Base Pro 900 is without a doubt be quiet!'s most ambitious chassis and, arguably, its best yet. In a marketplace filled to the brim with formulaic enclosures, the German manufacturer has managed to create something a little different and it's refreshing to build into a chassis that makes you think about the various possibilities.

Making good use of its sizeable frame, Dark Base Pro 900 offers a selection of stand-out features that help differentiate the case from its competitors. These include a PWM fan hub with support for LED lighting, a beautiful full-size tempered glass panel, integrated Qi wireless charging and a modular interior. Some features will be deemed more useful than others, but none can be deemed gimmicks and it's rare to see a chassis strive to do so much.

Attempting to tick so many boxes can however result in unwanted trade-offs. Dark Base Pro 900 isn't cheap at £209, and while the modular innards may suit specific builds, the resulting openings draw attention to visible cables. There's room for improvement, but be quiet!'s willingness to try something unique makes it a chassis manufacturer to watch.

Dark Base Pro 900 is by no means perfect, yet despite its quirks, it's fun, intriguing and adept at presenting ultra-high-end hardware in a tower that's flexible, stylish and wonderfully quiet.

Lovely case. I hope they also move towards building SFF cases and continuing the design philosophy through.

I actually think the price is perfectly reasonable considering it has the charging pad, PWM fan thingy, superb quality stock fans and tempered glass side panel, but agree that the lack of a Type C is quite strange.

I cannot say enough good things about the BQ fans, in my experience they are superior to the Noctuas.
I agree with you ‘Biscuit’, I too would like to see some SFF cases with the same detail and thought put into the design. I wonder if I could shrink this one in the washing machine ?
Well now that is one absolutely beautiful case. Top of the list for when I win the lottery (or the compo…!)
If space wasn't an issue I'd love to use this case for my next build. Love the idea of a fully modular case.
This case just looks fantastic and I really like the included fan hub with pwm control.
