The HEXUS readership has been quite vocal with its opinion on RGB lighting, but love it or loathe it, there's no denying that colourful illumination has added an extra layer of intrigue to various product categories.

All-in-one liquid coolers tended to be staid affairs typically sourced from one or two key ODMs, but in an effort to stand out from the crowd, an array of eye-catching RGB variants have arrived on the market.

Cooler Master is leading the charge with the in-house-developed MasterLiquid ML120R and ML240R RGB. Including a total of 28 addressable LEDs spread across pump and fans, the cooler offers vibrant lighting that can be customised to the nth degree. A bundled four-channel controller makes it easy to incorporate other hardware, and though there can be a fair amount of cable clutter to contend with, that's a minor drawback for those who can't get enough RGB.

Cooling performance is solid, the low-profile pump looks elegant, and Cooler Master's mounting kit is easy to work with on most modern sockets. A solid package for the most part, but in order to justify the £100 price tag, the soon-to-be-released MasterPlus+ software companion will need to deliver on its promise of effortless synchronisation and immersive effects.
