Conclusion

The Phison controller is adept at handling every type of consumer load well...

Corsair is unveiling its latest SSDs two months before widespread release. The Neutron XT is designed to offer class-leading performance by pairing the all-new Phison PS-3110-S10 controller with established MLC NAND from Toshiba.

Our look at pre-production performance shows Corsair to have a very capable solution for the real enthusiast. The Phison controller is good at handling every type of consumer load well, providing consistent, repeatable numbers irrespective of whether it's in out-of-the-box or heavily-used states.

Though performance is very sharp for a new drive, pricing and general availability remain unknowns. We'd like to see Corsair match the SanDisk Extreme Pro or the Samsung 850 Pro in value terms, and we'll be pitting these three class-leading SSDs against each other, on their latest respective firmwares, as soon as the Corsair is available to buy.

For now, Corsair can legitimately claim to have a premium SSD in its ranks. Thinking of purchasing a quality SSD for a new build in 2015? Remember to put the Neutron XT on your shortlist.

Impressive stuff, I wonder just how much they'll be selling for, though!
Hope it's for a good price
Impressive read and write speeds. Looks like the SSD price war might be about to hot up some more next year. You can bet that Samsung will react when Corsair release this.
Those are some astonishing results for a Phison controller. Maybe I'm doing them a disservice, but they're hardly known for high performance parts - more like basic but reliable ones. Nice to see a new player in the performance game :)
Since the other thread for this review seems abandoned:

The choice of drives to compare to in this article is pretty bizarre, IMHO.

The Plextor M6 Pro and Crucial M500 both have the same Marvell controller so it tells us very little to compare them to each other (just look at the consistency graphs) - whilst best sellers like Samsung aren't compared at all.

And it's not clear whether this drive should be compared alongside the bargain end of the market (e.g. Hynix) or premium end (e.g. Samsung Pro).
