Intel also appears to be keen to exploit a perceived growth in the market for ‘multimedia desktops'. For this reason it's launched four new desktop motherboards: the micro-ITX DG45ID, the mini-ITX DG45FC and the ATX DG43NB and DP43TF.

The G45 chipset is in direct competition with AMD's 780G and the brand new 790GX for the high-end integrated graphics market and this could be a key battleground between the two as the market for low cost PCs that can view video smoothly booms.

Lastly Intel has identified growing demand for customisable desktops. Hence the official unveiling of two notebook motherboards from its Rich Creek 2 mobile motherboard form factor specification. The MGM45WU and MGM45RM were first reported by HEXUS.channel a month ago.

What do you think? Is Intel doing enough to support local system builders? Will you be building any PCs based around these new products? Let us know in the HEXUS.community.
