Growing pains
The latest figures on the US mobile phone market from comScore reveal Android continues to hover up smartphone market share on the other side of the pond, with BlackBerry once more the big loser.
For the quarter to the end of May 2011 Android accounted for, on average, 38.1 percent of the smartphone market - a 5.1 point increase on the previous quarter. At this rate Android may account for half of the US market by the end of the year. While Apple managed to grow its own share a bit too, RIM lost 4.2 points more of market share.
