SAN FRANCISCO, CA, Feb. 11, 2016 – Vevo today announced its new mobile app for Android and native tvOS app for Apple TV. These new experiences are an extension of the company’s product-driven strategy to deliver the best cross-platform music video and entertainment experience.

Personalization, Curation and Discovery

The new mobile experience begins with an easy onboarding process that prompts the user to select their favorite artists. Using this information, the app then creates a personalized “Spotlight” feed, featuring curated playlists and videos tailored to individual preferences. The app also creates an initial playlist titled “My First Playlist” so that audiences can immediately enjoy the music they love. The “Favorites” section of the app houses the favorite artists and videos along with individual playlists. As people continue to use the app they can add and change their favorites selections as well as create and modify playlists. The Android app is also launching with Vevo’s new discovery feature, “New for You”, a playlist that appears every Monday in the Spotlight feed and provides recommended videos to check out based on an audience member’s individual taste. 

The new Vevo mobile app for Android is now available to download on the Google Play Store.

Leaning Back into Music

Vevo brings the smooth experience of the new mobile app and customizes it for the best lean-back experience. The Spotlight section autoplays so that a user can put down the remote and instantly enjoy a stream of music videos curated to their individual tastes. The audience can also easily navigate through the app to see top videos by genre; search for individual artists and videos; and select new favorite artists. Playlists and favorites will sync seamlessly among devices. Users can add or remove artists from their favorites list on their mobile or tvOS app; and modify playlists on the desktop and mobile versions of Vevo. These changes are then instantly updated across platforms. 

The new tvOS app is now available to download on the Apple TV App Store.
