NDS to demonstrate range of new solutions to secure and enable all digital TV platforms

London, UK and IBC Amsterdam, Stand 1.171 – August 22, 2005 – NDS the leading provider of technology solutions for digital pay TV, will demonstrate a full range of new developments showing operators how the secure delivery of content can be enhanced with ‘value add’ solutions.

NDS’s new solutions enable operators to distribute their prime content with complete security whatever the device - TV, PVR or new content to portable devices. • Music jukebox solution for the management and secure distribution of bundled music content (mp3 tracks, video clips, album art and metadata) from the XTV platform to on-the-go devices and mobile phones.

• Photo and home movies upload to the XTV box for a compelling way to enjoy
home videos and edit them at the TV set.

• NDS MediaHighway Middleware: A feature rich solution that runs on a wide range of satellite, cable and IP STBs. NDS will also showcase the latest, standard based, application development tools to support HTML, Java and MHP compliant application development.

• NDS xSpace: The new solution from NDS that enables broadcasters, mainly satellite operators, to offer true on-demand services on their platforms using an integrated broadcast / IP STB. xSpace showcases the power of an integrated user experience across broadcast, VOD and web-based video streaming. • SVP: SVP is a specification for protecting digital video content from unauthorized use by adding security enhancements to a standard video processor. SVP provides open, hardware-based content protection that ensures content, keys, and related control data remain under control from transmission to rendering.

SVP allows the platform operator’s rules for content consumption to be enforced for content stored on PVRs and distributed over the home network, and to portable devices.
