EA Maxis has confirmed that three new Spore games are on their way, making a total of four Spore titles due for a release in 2009.

Alongside the previously announced expansion of the PC version of Spore, Spore Galactic Adventures comes Spore Hero for Wii and Spore Hero Arena for Nintendo DS. Both are being billed as casual adventures and will feature storylines which see you directly controlling creatures across planets.

Also revealed is Spore Creature Keeper for PC, which sounds a bit like Nintendogs with monsters. You have to look after and nurture creatures in their virtual home and they'll be a chance to upgrade them and their surroundings as you progress. Spore Creature Keeper is due for release in the summer.

Further details, including screenshots of all the new Spore titles, are expected to be revealed shortly.
