New Battlestations game coming in 2008?

It looks as though Eidos are set to expand their Battlestations series following the discovery that the company has trademarked the name Battlestations Pacific.

The last game in the series, Battlestations Midway, was released in January 2007 on Xbox 360 and PC and was set in the Pacific during World War II. It's a mixture of action and real-time tactics as the player can both command his fleet assets and assume control of any one of them at will. The single player campaign is a series of missions from Pearl Harbor to the Battle of Midway, from a single patrol boat to a carrier battle group.

Eidos did a decent job at combining the two genres, so we're expecting more of the same when the sequel is released. Eidos are yet to announce Battlestations Pacific, so for now it's only a rumour.

If you can cope with listening to my black country accent, feel free to watch our video review of Battlestations Midway.

My nephew really enjoyed the first one (thanks to a Hexus compo I entered on his behalf :)). I'd be interested to see how things evolve in the sequel.

I liked the first game. Hopefully for the second game they'll fix a few of the issues.
