Publisher Deep Silver has confirmed that Homefront: The Revolution will be released in May this year. A beta version will be available for testing in February. Homefront: The Revolution is an open world first-person shooter set in 2029 in a US of A controlled by occupying 'Greater Korean Republic' forces.
"The revolution is nowhere, the revolution is everywhere - YOU are the revolution! Join the resistance."
This game is set in the not-too-distant future, two years after the events in Homefront and now four years into the Greater Korean Republic (GKR) invasion of the USA. The state of play is that the GKR are now pushing to control the eastern states of the USA with Philadelphia as their 'Green Zone' base.
War rages in the Red Zones and most people live, or rather exist, in the Yellow Zones - densely populated areas under the heavy handed control of the GKR with brutal military police, curfews, 24hr surveillance and constant propaganda broadcasts. It is here that the bulk of the Homefront: The Revolution action is set. You will work as a freedom fighter in the resistance; disrupting enemy propaganda, security, destroying other high value targets and assassinating high ranking officials. The ultimate goal is a fully fledged revolution.
Deep Silver will be making a closed beta available to Xbox One registrants this February. The full release will come on 17th May in the US and 20th May in other regions. Gaming platforms include Windows PCs, Xbox One and PS4.
