A few niggles...

For all the game's positives, and there are many, there are also a number of issues that have littered the Harry Potter titles from day one. There's an unwelcome return to bad camera angles, a poorly executed lock-on function and some poor AI. While these issues don't ruin the fun you have around Hogwarts, they do occasionally irritate. Hogwarts is brimming with more characters than ever before who stand around the hallways and move around the place adding to the atmosphere, but occasionally they'll get in the way, even blocking doorways. The worst culprits are Hermione and Ron who follow you throughout the game, offering tips, but generally just making a nuisance of themselves by getting under your feet.

Harry Potter: OOTP will be an ordinary adventure for the hardcore gamer or those who despise the bespectacled wizard. However, Potter fans will be delighted to be able to explore the world at their own pace, making discoveries and slowly unraveling the superb storyline and J.K Rowling’s magical creations.

Until the Harry Potter Theme World opens in Orlando's Disneyworld this is the best it gets for Potter fans. As far as movie spin-offs go, there's more creativity and thought gone into Harry Potter: OOTP then a dozen other games of the same ilk. For Potter fans I highly recommend it; for anyone else it's still worth a rent.

Pros
Explore at your own pace with no loading times
Well thought out quests
Plenty to do
Potter fans will love it

Cons
Lock-on function isn't as smooth as we'd like
Some bad camera angles
Having to walk long distances

The best Potter game to date, allowing you explore this magical world to your heart's content.
