Tesco has, as predicted, launched its new Tesco Hudl tablet this morning. The world’s third largest retailer is aiming for the cheap seats with a 7-inch Android based tablet priced at £119. However the Tesco presence upon the Android Jelly Bean 4.2.2 device isn’t overwhelming, as was feared by some, the device offers an almost ‘stock’ experience.

- Cameras: 3 megapixel back camera and 2 megapixel front facing camera
- 16GB Built-in storage extendable to 48GB via Micro-SD slot
- Wi-Fi Dual band 2.4GHz & 5GHz, GPS, Bluetooth 4.0
- Approx 9hr Battery life
- USB 2.0 port, Micro-HDMI port
- Stereo speakers
There is no 3G or 4G connectivity option with the newly announced tablet. However the more or less standard version of Android installed has benefits such as full access to Google Play and all the apps and content available on there. The tablet is available in a choice of four colours and Tesco are promising a good range of accessories designed to match it.
Tesco leverages its brands via a small [T] symbol which sits on the touch sensitive area to the left of the standard Android controls threesome. Tesco groceries, Tesco Direct, ClubCard, Blinkbox movies, Blinkbox music, ClubCard TV and Tesco Bank all pop up following a touch of the [T] icon at the lower left of the screen.

The Tesco Hudl will be available from 30th September priced at £119. Pocket Lint reports that, using ClubCard vouchers, shoppers will be able to buy it for just £60.
