Some of us tried the Developer Preview and many of us ran the Consumer Preview, but it seems Microsoft's public beta of Windows 8 isn't over yet.
According to the company's Building Windows 8 Twitter feed, the software giant will roll out a 'Release Preview' in the first week of June.
No confirmation of whether or not this will be an open beta, but it seems Microsoft wants to give users the chance to see Windows 8 in its finished state prior to a retail release rumoured to be taking place later in the year. There's no indication of what's changed since the Consumer Preview launched back in April, but the fact that Microsoft is issuing another pre-release preview suggests that there may be a couple of significant changes.
An option to disable the Metro overlay in non-touchscreen desktop installations, perhaps? We can only hope.
