Conclusion

...good enough to keep a 2970WX running at an all-core 4.0GHz without any throttling issues.

The be quiet! Dark Rock Pro 4 cooler has already proven to be a very competent cooler for high-end builds. A small redesign now sees it fit for duty for the most powerful consumer CPU on the market, AMD Ryzen Threadripper.

Cooling performance is excellent when using both supplied fans, good enough to keep a 2970WX running at an all-core 4.0GHz without any throttling issues. Another plus point is the lack of price premium for the TR4 model, coming in at the same £70.

It's clear we like the Pro 4 TR4, though the fact that its fan overhangs the DIMM slots is the one minor blot on the be quiet! copybook. If you can get past that, it's a fine choice for a premium air-cooled build on any platform. Recommended.

Is there anywhere that has a comparison of this and the new Corsair 115i platinum on threadripper?
The BeQuiet coolers are good. Much better than a lot of what is out there. The best thing on these coolers is the silent wings !
