Crackle Launches on the Sony Entertainment Network in the UK

Crackle application on Sony BRAVIA, Blu-ray players and Network Media players provides access to wide variety of ad-supported, free-to-consumer Hollywood films and TV programmes

Crackle, Sony Pictures Television's (SPT) multi-platform video entertainment network, will be available on the Sony Entertainment Network in the UK on 10th April.

From today, consumers with access to the Sony Entertainment Network (SEN) in the UK can access ad-supported, free-to-consumer full-length films and television series whenever they want via Crackle. Available through BRAVIA TVs, Blu-ray Disc players, Blu-ray Home Theatre Devices and Network Media players, Crackle offers films across a range of genres including action, comedy, crime, horror, thriller and sci-fi, plus hit TV series and award-winning Crackle original programming.

The announcement was made by Eric Berger, executive vice president, digital networks SPT. "Crackle draws viewers in with its unique offering of ad-supported Hollywood films and television series," said Berger. "By making our collection of content available on even more devices in the UK, we're bringing an unparalleled viewing experience directly to consumers through their internet-enabled televisions."

Titles are updated monthly with films and TV series from studios including Columbia Pictures, TriStar Pictures, Screen Gems and Sony Pictures Classics.

Crackle will sit alongside other popular third party services on the Sony Entertainment Network including LOVEFiLM and BBC News, as well as unique services such as Music Unlimited and Video Unlimited.

Crackle will be available in the UK on all Sony Entertainment Network connected BRAVIA's, Blu-ray players, Blu-ray home theatre kits and Netboxes. The launch of Crackle on the Sony devices expands Crackle's existing UK presence in the region which includes: Crackle's website (www.crackle.com), Xbox LIVE, Roku Streaming Players and Apple (iPhone, iPad, iPod touch) and AndroidTM platforms, where Crackle has ranked among the top five entertainment apps.
