Activision has reanimated its Call of Duty zombies co-op mode. The new Call of Duty: WWII - Nazi Zombies is said to be "a chilling, dark vision of undead horror" and was officially revealed yesterday evening at San Diego Comic Con 2017. Activision gave us some background info for the game and published the video trailer you can see below. An incomplete version of this trailer was leaked earlier in the week.
Sledgehammer Games, the developers, were keen to talk up the gaming experiences to come. Glen Schofield, Studio Head and Co-Founder of Sledgehammer Games, said that "This is unlike anything before, we're taking players to some very dark, grim places in Nazi Zombies. This is one hell of a horror experience."
In this episode gamers will play through a cooperative experience within a "labyrinth of chilling occult Nazi zombies experiments, and monstrous creations". The game starts in a snowy village in Mittelburg, Bavaria, with you and your team looking to recover priceless works of art stolen by the Axis powers during World War II. However, the village holds a dark secret and a potentially invincible army of the dead.
As is often the case with modern CoD productions, the story includes famous actors voices and likenesses within the NPC cast. This time around there's David Tennant (Doctor Who, Broadchurch), Elodie Yung (G.I. Joe: Retaliation, Daredevil), Katheryn Winnick (Vikings, The Dark Tower), Udo Kier (Blade, Melancholia) and Ving Rhames (Pulp Fiction, Mission Impossible - Rogue Nation).
Call of Duty: WWII is available for pre-order with private beta access starting from 25th August on PS4 and from 1st Sept on PC and Xbox One. Call of Duty: WWII and its Nazi Zombies mode will be released on PC, Xbox One and PS4 on 3rd November.
