Spring-time map action

Activision has bought word that both the Xbox 360 and PS3 version of Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare will have new multiplayer maps added to the roster this Spring.

They could have waited to tell us this news when they actually have details of these maps and a firm delivery date, but any excuse to remind us that Call of Duty 4 is the best-selling game of 2007 is bound to be taken.

“We’ve demonstrated our commitment to delivering the best multiplayer experience in Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare and that continues with our plans for new downloadable content,” explains Infinity Ward’s Community Manager, Robert Bowling. “We’re excited about the new maps, and the added gameplay variety, and we can’t wait to wrap things up and get online with everyone.”

Well who are we to stop them bragging? The game deserves all the plaudits. From the press release:

Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare is the worldwide best-selling game in units of 2007, according to The NPD Group, Chart Track and The GFK Group, and winner of more than 40 editors’ choice and game of the year honours.

Ker-ching!

Oh nuts, I really hope this won't be downloadable content that you have to pay for.

I understand the reasoning behind charging for these extras, but from my point of view it really segregates the gamers. You end up with a bunch of people who have the extra content and a bunch of people who don't. Unfortunately, it usually means that the two groups can't play together and dampens the whole experience.

At least, that's the way I see it. :O_o1:
ooooh nice!
and im guessing you will have to pay as considering games like resistance and warhawk you have had to pay for the extra maps/content
but still - cant wait!
they better bring out more maps for the pc
