2K Games has confirmed that BioShock 2 will be available worldwide beginning February 9, 2010.

Currently in development for the Xbox 360, PS3 and PC, BioShock 2 will deliver a story-driven single player campaign and feature a multiplayer component.

Set approximately 10 years after the events of the original BioShock, the halls of Rapture once again echo with sins of the past. Along the Atlantic coastline, a monster has been snatching little girls and bringing them back to the undersea city of Rapture. Players step into the boots of the most iconic denizen of Rapture, the Big Daddy, as they travel through the decrepit and beautiful fallen city, chasing an unseen foe in search of answers and their own survival.

Multiplayer in BioShock 2 will provide a prequel experience that expands the origins of the BioShock fiction. Set during the fall of Rapture, players assume the role of a Plasmid test subject for Sinclair Solutions, a premier provider of Plasmids and Tonics in the underwater city of Rapture that was first explored in the original BioShock. All of the iconic locations from the original game, such as Kashmir Restaurant and Mercury Suites, have been reworked from the ground up for multiplayer.

As long as they take their time, and don't rush it. I'm not bothered. I'd rather wait and play an awesome sequel, rather than a rushed release.
i hope they do as good on this as the did on the 1st one
Yes I too thought the 1st one was fantastic, replayed it all again when I got a new graphics card on highest settings. Then replayed it all again when I got a new 24" monitor.
Time for a replay here methinks…

Can't wait for the sequel, or COD6…
