Beta phase applications for the PC version of Final Fantasy XIV Online can now be submitted via the FFXIV website.

The massively multiplayer online game is due for release on PC and PS3 in 2010 and will include many of the gameplay elements that has made the Final Fantasy series so popular, including plenty of quests, battle and job systems, crafting and combat.

You have to be 18 years old to apply and the beta phase is only open to residents in Europe and North America.

The lucky ones will be contacted at a later date with details of how to access the beta phase.

Details of the PS3 beta phase for Final Fantasy XIV Online have not yet been revealed, though the application does ask you if you want to be considered for this version.

Apply for the beta phase at the official FFXIV website.
