Electronic Arts and Respawn Entertainment have launched Titanfall today in the USA. The game is said to be available in retail and online, an exclusive for Microsoft's Xbox One and Windows PC systems, costing $59.99. Rolling Stone called the Titanfall game "the most anticipated next-generation videogame of the year," and now it's here, at least in the US. The European launch is scheduled to for Thursday 13th March with the UK getting the game on Friday 14th March.

If you played around with the beta, seen videos or have read though previous coverage of Titanfall on HEXUS then you will know what to expect from this mech shooter action game, but for others here's an official summary of the game:

"Set in the near future on a distant frontier torn apart by war, Titanfall drops players in the middle of a conflict between the Interstellar Manufacturing Corporation (IMC) and the Militia. The action is rapid and varied - featuring parkour-style wall running, massive double jumps and the ability to hijack titans. The freedom to shift back and forth between pilot and titan allows players to change tactics on the fly, attacking or escaping depending on the situation and extending the action vertically to new heights."

With any big multiplayer game launch nowadays we are used to hearing about server woes so it is interesting to read, via MCV, that Titanfall is working rather well with just a few niggles with slow logins right now. We hear that Titanfall is using Microsoft’s Azure cloud computing servers and the team behind the game are monitoring things to make sure demand is met. However Thursday/Friday will provide further tests of the server capacity when Europe comes alive…

PC owners might be interested to find the minimum recommended specs to play Titanfall are as follows:

Launched last night in Asia….completed the “campaign” (yes they call it that!) as IMC and got half way through as Malitia….

The odd thing was the 49.99GB download that then says it's uncompressing 35GB of audio……I would love to know where that audio is being used though :/
Origin seems a tad odd though, I am on 160Mb connection and hit a little over 50MB/s (thats 400Mbps!) at about the half way point of the download…..my switch port was only showing 150Mb/s at that time though….very odd indeed.

Good luck with the downloads ;)
Any game with Origin/ EA is a big no no for me, in light of past and present experiances, most notably Battlefield 3, Crysis 3 E.T.C. I can't play a game everytime I update origin, I have to reinstall the whole game again.

The audio is for every language.
Already played a few hours yesterday using a Korean proxy! Its fun enough but does get boring after a while especially when you come top of your team every time and loose still because the rest cant kill anyone…
I will be skipping this. I was originally quite interested, but almost every single person who has tried it has been saying that it gets old within a couple of hours. I'm still very much loving Natural Selection 2 almost 1100h in, and still learning loads and improving as I go, so I've no particular interest in picking up a new game yet anyway.

And it's EA/Origin - I have uninstalled origin for the last time, I will never have that awful piece of cack back on my computer again.
