The first details for the next Oblivion expansion, entitled 'Shivering Isles', have been revealed in this month's issue of PC Zone magazine.

The expansion will feature a new land for us to explore as well as new monsters to fight and plenty of quests to get stuck into, altogether adding approximately 30 extra hours of gameplay.

Due out in the second quarter of 2007, Oblivion: Shivering Isles will take you through a newly opened portal situated in Nibben Bay which leads to the new land which is ruled by the God of madness and dementia, Sheogorath. PC Zone have stated that the Shivering Isle will change around you depending on the decisions you make.

If you're interested in reading more, you'll have to pick up Issue 177 of PC Zone, which is apparently out today.

There's more info in the february US PC Gamer as well I think.

Sounds like it's mostly based on Sheogorath's stuff - which means lots of mad stuff going on. The landscapes meant to be a bit mental not to mention the characters.

We'll have to see if it's rather limited scope though - my impression is it's about 10 hours worth, but I wonder if it's got something for all play styles, or if it's more for the evil type characters.

I'm not sure if I can be bothered to play any more Oblivion, it's had far too much of my time in 2006. Doubt I'll download this one.
Apparently it's supposed to be influenced by the quirkiness of the good old Lucasarts era.

Spent more time modding Oblivion than actually playing it (still haven't finished the main quest!) though.
There is a 2 page thing about it in the latest PC zone (part of their whats coming in 07), I havent read it yet tho.
I'm quite looking forward to this. I still enjoy Oblivion, I've completed the main quest, cant find any new side quests, completed the guilds, Nights of the Nine and I'm still hungry for more…
