AMD has updated its Gaming Evolved client (powered by Raptr) to provide more powerful and more closely integrated video recording/streaming and editing facilities. Game video capture is one of the major features of the AMD Gaming Evolved client which additionally offers; game optimisation, dedicated communities for thousands of gaming titles, and the ability to earn rewards such as games, in game items and even hardware - for just playing your favourite games.
"At AMD, we believe that every gamer will eventually be sharing video of their plays, whether recorded or livestreamed," said AMD's Corporate VP of Alliances, Technology, and VR, Roy Taylor, heralding the new release. "The AMD Gaming Evolved client enables video capture with virtually no impact on system performance, and we're excited to give gamers the tools to make sharing their best plays a seamless and fun experience".
The biggest change will probably be seen by League of Legends and Counter-Strike: Global Offensive players who will benefit most as the AMD Gaming Evolved client "automatically creates highlights of your kills, deaths, killstreaks, bomb plants, baron kills, etc; completely pre-edited". Further games will get this close integration in the future, but for now they benefit from the client always recording gameplay in the background, so you're always ready to capture that special gaming moment.
As the software records it auto-deletes old clips so that your storage doesn't run out. Users can configure a hotkey which will catch the previous 30 seconds plus start recording from where you are now. Your microphone, webcam and mouse clicks can also be recorded. As implied above, unless you are running one of the two games previously mentioned, you will have to manually edit your own video showreels of your best moments.
