It's no Halo, but it could be fun

Playing games, what better use for a high-tech $10,000 multi-touch Surface table?

We've seen various useful demonstrations of Microsoft's Surface technology and it's clear to see how Surface could be used in retail. Today, Microsoft and Carbonated Games demonstrated the first game application, named Firefly, to sarcasticgamer.com.

The objective behind the game is as simple as it gets. Players use their fingers (as many as they like, multi-touch don't forget) to guide nicely coloured fireflies into their glass jars. Be too hasty however and you risk squishing your digital insects and well, we wouldn't want that now would we?

Check out this video to see what Firefly has in store:

Now, I think it's kinda cool and I wouldn't mind having a go myself but for a $10,000 table, is this the best demonstration they could come up with?

Fortunately for Microsoft, no Surface devices have been spotted with the dreaded "Red Ring of Death"...yet.

I know it's a waste of $10,000 but it screams to me that hand-powered Pong would be great! :)
