The Codies are at it again, this time teasing us with shots and info on the cars featuring in TOCA Race Driver 3. The game will have over 100 different championships in 35 different racing styles from GT and off-road to rally and open wheel… You’ll be able to switch from one racing style to another with ease and enjoy the subtle physics and car handling characteristics unique to each racing style.
TOCA Race Driver 3 will bring you some of the greatest F1 cars in history from the very latest BMW WilliamsF1 Team car, through to Damon Hills' championship winning FW18 and Nelson Piquet's classic FW11b of the '80s. Then you can go back even further with the Lotus 49 of the '60s right back to the Mercedes-Benz W25 Silver Arrow of the '30s… and a beast of a machine that one was!
To satisfy our American cousins there's the new Dodge Charger that's doing the rounds on the NASCAR circuits this year. Alternatively, try the open-wheel endurance with the IndyCar Series championship cars at Indianapolis.
But the action doesn’t stop there. The Codies have faithfully recreated other international race competitions, complete with faithfully modelled race cars, so you’ll get to drive in Germany's DTM and Australia's V8 Supercars series if you fancy and both championships will feature the 2005 season, complete with car set-ups, practice sessions, and qualifying races.
If high speed racing doesn’t light your fire, how about the 4x4 Monster Series trucks with their huge, air-filled, 1.5m tyres, 4WD steering and low-end torque that'll let you pull wheelies from the start! Or for the more diminutive minded amongst us, how about taking the Baja Beetles off road with plenty of jumps to send the Bajas flying.
For the technical minded driver, TOCA Race Driver 3 offers you a chance to show off your technical racing skills in F3, Formula BMW and the Formula Palmer Audi. With over 40 championship circuits, you'll be racing some of the greatest cars on the greatest tracks – sometimes taking them to an unusual location. How about taking a V8 car out of Australia and race its 5.0 Litre engine at the Nurburgring or taking a TVR from the British GT out east and racing it at the Shanghai International Circuit TOCA Race Driver 3 will let you do it.
TOCA Race Driver 3 is revved up for a release in February 2006 on PlayStation 2, Xbox and PC.
