If you've splashed out on one of AMD's latest graphics cards, you may have realised that DirectX 11 gaming titles remain few and far between.

Fortunately, one such title - Codemasters' eagerly-anticipated DiRT 2 - is scheduled to launch later this month and will be showcased to consumers as part of a demo made available later today.

Web-savvy users may note that a pre-release DiRT 2 demo is already circulating the Internet, but for those wanting to try out the official, final version, it'll be available in a little over an hour.

Commenting on the Codemasters forum, DiRT 2 community coordinator Ice has revealed that the demo will be made available today at 2pm GMT.

"Over the weekend a leaked early version of the DiRT 2 demo has appeared on the net on various download sites. I would advise people not to download this unsupported version of the demo as it is not the final version and will not give you the best experience of the game," he adds.

Making use of DX11 features such as hardware tessellation and display lists, DiRT 2 promises enhanced effects and improved efficiency. You might want to check out the recommended hardware specifications before you get too excited, though.

Already tried the demo? Let us know what you think of the DX11 enhancements in the HEXUS.community forums.

edit: Hmm, remember that weird bug with the demo for Grid where menu's slowed to about 1 fps? Well I've got that with this demo too. The menu inside the trailer runs at 1 fps. Go outside and it's 60.
Unfortunately I hated the first DIRT. Something about driving without traction doesn't appeal to me. I did love GRID though. Can't wait for a DX11 release of any GRID sequel.

The only thing different between GRID and DIRT is that one is contains track cars the other rally, with the latter being the stronger game of the two.
